Log Volume Calculator for the Palm Pilot (logvol.prc - 16K) is a small program that calculates Scribner and Cubic volumes for a log of given dimensions. Scribner volumes can be calculated without taper (Coastal Scaling rules) or you can use F.S. 16ft, or F.S. 20ft Scaling rules.
Valid DIBs are 1" to 120". If only one DIB is entered, it will be presumed to be the Scaling DIB and calculations will reflect a cylinder with no taper. Valid lengths are 1' to 50' for FS 20ft and 1' to 40' for FS 16ft and Long Wood (no taper).
Note that you can move easily between fields using the Graffiti NextField (down-up) and PrevField (up-down) strokes. You may enter Scaling and Butt DIB in either order and the Palm will select the smaller as the Scaling DIB.

Log Volume Calculator for the PC (logvol.zip - 215K) is a PC program that calculates Scribner and Cubic volumes for logs of given dimensions. Logs may be grouped by any user-defined label such as TruckID, StackID, PlotNbr, Date, VendorID, CustomerID, or the like. The program generates Totals and Subtotals, various Statistics (including %CV), and a Chart that plots Scribner Volumes and Log Counts by Diameter Class. The program has options for printing a report and for saving the log data in comma-delimited format.
